You Taught Me Book Collaboration

Meet Talina Papazian, a young Canadian author whose passion for advocacy stems from her experiences growing up alongside her younger brother who has a hidden disability. In 2023, she published her first children’s book titled You Taught Me with the hopes of empowering young readers to champion inclusion and accessibility. Now available internationally in English, French, and Mandarin, You Taught Me has grown into an advocacy campaign of the same name – engaging communities across Canada through avenues such as workshops, events, webinars, and social media. Since its launch, the campaign has gained national recognition through CTV, Radio Canada, and the Toronto Star, as well as by the Rick Hansen Foundation and Empowered Kids Ontario.

Smilezone is proud to collaborate with Talina and her campaign to make inclusive storytelling more accessible to children and families. In hopes of creating a more inclusive and accessible tomorrow, we have distributed copies of You Taught Me at various site installations. We’ve also had the pleasure of highlighting our collaboration with Talina’s campaign on social media. We’re excited to continue championing inclusion and accessibility together!
