Woodview Mental Health & Autism Services – Brantford, ON

In December 2021, Smilezone Foundation transformed 4 NEW SMILEZONES at Woodview Mental Health and Autism Services in Brantford, ON. Smilezone previously renovated Woodview’s head office in Burlington in 2019, and was very excited to get involved with the organization’s second location, to celebrate our 300th Smilezone transformation across Ontario!

Thanks to generous support from the Harold E. Ballard Foundation, the Bank of Montreal, the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund, and the Rotary Club of Brantford, Smilezone Foundation was able to transform the previously drab main entrance waiting area, family and community group rooms and connecting hallways into colourful Smilezones. The Smilezones include murals, sensory tables and accessible seating and bright colours. The Smilezone team worked with Woodview to ensure the work would be suitable for people with sensory sensitivities and other key considerations.

“As an organization that serves children and youth facing mental health concerns and those on the autism spectrum, we are delighted to again be the recipient of a Smilezone Foundation revitalization project,” said Flora Ennis, director of services (Brant) and system planning for Woodview. As a registered charity, Woodview provides autism and mental health therapy services and supports to more than 2,000 children, young people, adults and families. It is the lead agency for child and youth mental health in Brantford and Brant County.

Specific Features in the Smilezone Transformation Include:

  • Fresh Paint
  • Colourful murals featuring outdoor, nature and animal themes
  • Comfortable seating
  • Custom storage solutions
  • Interactive sensory items

  • and more!
Thank you to the Bank of Montreal, the Harold E. Ballard Foundation, Bell Let's Talk, the Rotary Club of Brantford!
