In May 2024, we will be installing SIX Smilezones at Waypoint Mental Health! The Smilezones will be in the Stairwell, Café, Quiet Nook, Child/Youth Programming Room, Waiting Room and Exam Room. The Smilezones will include: Fresh paint, Colorful Murals, Rolling Storage, iPad with Lockable Kiosk, Book Display, Magnetic/ Dry Erase Whiteboard, Kids Tactile Table, Sensory Table and Wall Mounted Device Charger.

Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care, located in Penetanguishene on the shores of Georgian Bay. It is home to the Waypoint Research Institute and hosts the province’s only high-secure forensic mental health program. Serving Simcoe County, Muskoka, part of Dufferin County, and the southern portion of Parry Sound, Waypoint provides both acute and longer-term psychiatric services. The hospital is well-regarded for delivering exceptional care to those in need of mental health services and for its significant contributions to the understanding of mental illness.
