World Smile Day 2025

Hands on Exotic - Humber River Hospital

We kicked off the week by joining Humber River Hospital for their first “Peas in a Pod: A NICU Celebration.” The event celebrated families whose children began their journey in the NICU. Smilezone partnered with Hands on Exotics, who brought along a Savannah cat, parrot, chinchillas, guinea pigs, a tortoise, rabbit, and bearded dragon. Families were invited to meet and hold the animals, which brought a lot of excitement and joy throughout the day. It was a warm and uplifting way to start the week!

Cookie Decorting - Everymind Center

The Smilezone team spent the afternoon at EveryMind Mental Health Centre in Mississauga, where children and youth took part in a cookie-decorating activity. Kids decorated cookies with designs inspired by dinosaurs, outer space, and bright colours, sharing stories and laughter along the way. The activity encouraged creativity and connection, helping to create a relaxed and positive environment that supported both fun and mental wellness.

Hands on Exoctic - Hamilton Child and Family Supports

Our next stop was Hamilton Child and Family Supports, where we once again partnered with Hands on Exotics for an animal encounter event. Families had the chance to meet a parrot, hedgehog, guinea pig, ferret, rabbit, bearded dragon, and snake. Kids were especially excited to touch and learn about each animal, and staff joined in the fun as well. The visit filled the centre with energy and smiles, creating a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Corporate Canine - St Micheals Hospital

On World Smile Day itself, Smilezone joined St. Michael’s Hospital for a visit with Canine Therapy. Therapy dogs Jacoby Pippin (Beagle) and Pluto (Maltipoo) made their rounds through several hospital units, greeting patients, staff, and families. The visit brought a lot of comfort and calm to the hospital environment and reminded everyone how much of a difference these small, positive interactions can make.

Heros Walk and Roll - Lansdowne Children's Center

To close out World Smile Week, Smilezone took part in Lansdowne Children’s Centre’s annual Walk and Roll event at Brantford Park. Families and supporters came dressed as superheroes and participated in games, activities, and a group walk to celebrate inclusion and community spirit. The day was filled with colour, laughter, and connection!
