Milton District Hospital – Milton, ON

Over the weekend of December 20th – 22nd, we were at Milton District Hospital transforming EIGHT new Smilezones in Milton, Ontario! 

The Smilezones are located in: 

  • Emergency Playroom
  • Emergency Department Child Observation (4 rooms) 
  • Fracture Clinic Examination Room (2 rooms)
  • Maternal Newborn Family Lounge 

The Emergency Play Room, four Emergency Department Child Observation Rooms, two Fracture Clinic Examination Rooms and the Maternal Newborn Family Lounge were all stocked with items, colours and murals that will help the children and their families have positive distraction and places for fun during their visits.

About Milton District Hospital:

Milton District Hospital is a community hospital built on 40 acres of land in Milton, Ontario. MDH is operated by Halton Healthcare Services and offers a vast array of inpatient, outpatient and emergency services. 

 

Specific Features in the Smilezone Transformation Include:

  • Sensory wall panels
  • Hospital-grade bean bag chairs
  • Wheel chair accessible iPad stations for use in the Observation Room and Lounge
  • Children’s seating
  • engaging murals
  • fresh paint
